Still from Alys Tomlinson’s Gli Isolani (The Islanders) project which explores ritual, tradition and identity in islands of the Venetian lagoon, Sicily and Sardinia. Photographed amongst crumbling stone, dramatic rocks and rural fields, the portraits capture traditional costumes and masks worn during festivities and celebrations on these Italian islands.

Alys’s work is collected privately and is in the following collections: National Portrait Gallery (London), The Rencontres d’Arles Collection, The Bodleian Library.

Solid oak frame with dark oak stain, conservation mount board with spacers and anti reflective glass. Conservation standard framing.
